Musicus Society's inaugural
Musicus Fest recently gathered top artists from overseas and Hong Kong in a number of educational events and community concerts at Po Leung Kuk and Asia Society, leading to three major concerts at City Hall, including the gala event of the festival – the Breguet’s Celebration of Excellence concert featuring Finland’s leading orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, with Musicus Fest Artistic Director, renowned cellist Trey Lee, and Finnish opera star mezzo soprano Virpi Räisänen, and a concluding concert performed by all festival artists and students from the festival’s education program.
In a heartwarming statement given by Artistic Director Trey Lee to a roomful of enthusiastic audience while introducing about sixty local and overseas festival artists and Tapiola Sinfonietta members onstage at the concluding concert, Lee stated: "The concept of
Musicus Fest is not just about bringing world-class artists together to make great music…it is also about encouraging and giving opportunities to Hong Kong's abundant young musical talents that you saw onstage tonight. Together with your support, we will continue with our work and hopefully see you all again at
Musicus Fest 2014!"
