(17 September, 2026, Hong Kong) Presented by Musicus Society, Musicus Fest 2026 will run from November 1 to December 18, presenting 11 cross-cultural and intergenerational performance events across Hong Kong.
Curated by Artistic Director Trey Lee, this year’s festival brings together international and local virtuosos. Highlights include the return of Italy’s renowned Mantua Chamber Orchestra, a first-ever collaboration with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and featured artists from Finland and Australia.
“Music serves as a bridge connecting languages, cultures, histories, communities, and generations,” says Trey Lee. “This year, we share a diverse collection of programs, ranging from performances in declared monuments to reinterpretations of classical works, reminding us of the need for more dialogue in the world.”
Next Generation Virtuosi “Unwind with Chamber Capriccio” (Nov 1)
This concert showcases nine rising stars selected through the Young Artist Audition: violinists Jeremy Hao, Jonathan Leung, Sally Ma, and Blues Zhang; violists Martin Kuo and Lawrence Wong; cellists Kin Chen and Jia Nan; and pianist Prudence Poon. Performing works by Richard Strauss, Schumann, and Mendelssohn, these outstanding young musicians will display their technical prowess and compelling artistic personalities.
Heritage Music: Old District Office North at Tai Po (Nov 7–8)
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Musicus Heritage Stories presents five heritage concerts. Held at this beautifully preserved colonial-era declared monument normally closed to the public, this offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience live classical music inside an officially protected historical site.
Family Concert: An Instrument Battle in Carnival (Nov 22)
Back by popular demand, this interactive family concert follows Marco Polo’s return to Venice, sparking a playful "showdown" between Eastern and Western instruments. Directed by Marc Ngan and featuring pianist Colleen Lee and actress Franchesca Wong, it invites audiences of all ages to explore diverse musical traditions.
