The Vanishing Glimpse

The piece is an attempt of converging music and architecture by bringing together time, space and acoustics. The music was originally conceived to couple with the actual movement of the performers and the audience from the auditorium to the Blue Gate to physically replicate a ritual procession; however, due to the pandemic situation, the performance is restricted within the auditorium.

The music begins in the auditorium with a brief imaginary nostalgia – ancient, strange yet peaceful. It then gradually opens up to a miragelike cityscape that describes a postmodern metropolis, which again very soon dissipated.

We are after all living within different physical and abstract boundaries. The glimpse through time which is left behind the boundary will hopefully turn into fragments of our memories.
