Reanimate is inspired by The Asia Society Hong Kong Centre, located at the former Explosive Magazine Compound. This work traverses the history of this unique conglomeration of modernity and heritage from the mid-19th century, when the compound was built, to date.

The title "Reanimate" means to revive from dormancy.

Reanimate consists of four sections, each symbolising a portion of the Magazine Compound's undulant past, from its inauguration, Navy's occupation to its revitalisation. Themes employed in each section are built upon the number 1863, the year when the former Magazine A was built. The piece also features extensive use of quartal chords that serve as a foundation of the sections.
