Musicus Society is delighted to welcome President and CEO of the Curtis Institute of Music, Mr Roberto Díaz, as the third guest speaker of our Free Educational Talks Series on “Studying Music Overseas”. Mr Díaz has a long and distinguished career as performer and educator and had a significant impact on American musical life. Before becoming President and CEO of the Curtis Institute of Music in 2006, he was principal viola of The Philadelphia Orchestra. His tenure at Curtis has seen the introduction of Curtis On Tour; Curtis Summerfest; the inception of classical guitar, string quartet, and conducting programs among other new initiatives. Also under his leadership, Curtis has developed lasting collaborations with music and arts institutions throughout the world.

One of the most selective schools in the world, the Curtis Institute of Music accepts four percent of applicants each year on average, and a tuition-free policy ensures that talent and artistic promise are the only considerations for admission. In this talk, Mr Díaz will be speaking to Trey Lee, sharing his insights on a range of topics about studying in the United States.
