Promote Cross-cultural Collaboration of Music Internationally

Budapest – Hong Kong Express

Barnabás Kelemen, Katalin Kokas and the Musicus Soloists Hong Kong chamber orchestra
As blossoming cultural ambassadors of the East, Musicus Soloists Hong Kong (MSHK) embarks on its second European concert project with cellist and MSHK artistic director Trey Lee in Budapest. Under the guest leadership of Hungarian virtuoso Barnabás Kelemen, MSHK will be making its Hungarian debut in a musical dialogue. The group will be joined by celebrated locals Katalin Kokas (lead viola), Miklós Király (folk violin) and Sándor Kuti (cimbalom).

From the baroque concerto grosso format of Locatelli's Concerto a Quattro to Bartók's fiery Divertimento, this concert is a showcase for MSHK's vibrant and youthful energy together with Kelemen and Kokas’ mastery of the Hungarian musical tradition. The program also features Weiner's charming Divertimento No. 1 and a special collaboration between the folk music specialists and these dynamic young musicians from Hong Kong. This promises to be an unforgettable evening of East-meets-West music making!
