A gathering of world-class soloists and emerging talents in vibrant chamber gems from the Spanish speaking world

Musicus Fest’s Chamber Music Gala continues to gather esteemed musicians from overseas and Hong Kong in a program devoted to music with Spanish flavor. The Spanish vein begins with Turina’s Piano Trio in B minor. The sensuous music evokes the atmosphere of nightfall in Seville, where the composer was born. Piazzolla’s classic “Histoire du Tango” takes audience on a journey discovering the sounds and colors of Tango. In the flamboyant “Fandango” from Boccherini’s Guitar Quintet No.4 in D, the boisterous streets of Madrid are conjured through sounds of the guitar and the castanets. Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F minor, one of the masterworks of 19th-century chamber music, brings the evening to a concluding climax.
