Promote Cross-cultural Collaboration of Music Internationally

Hong Kong Stars Reunited in Musicus Fest 2020

11.10.2020
Celebrating Musicus Society’s 10th anniversary, Musicus Fest 2020 in November reunites internationally-trained, prizewinning young Hong Kong talents from around the world with renowned artists to bring alive repertoire of classical works as well as newly commissioned works. Led by Artistic Director and famous cellist Trey Lee, a series of concerts will take place at Tai Kwun, Po Leung Kuk Main Building, as well as the Hong Kong City Hall.

Founded under the vision of Trey Lee, Musicus Society aims to promote music through cross-cultural collaboration. Throughout the years, it has provided ample opportunities for Hong Kong artists to perform and collaborate with overseas masters in Hong Kong and abroad. “Hong Kong has long invited internationally celebrated artists, but young Hong Kong artists enjoy few opportunities to perform on stage with them, which is vital for the latter’s development,” says Lee.
“This year’s Musicus Fest has multiple layers of symbolism and meaning,” Lee remarks. Due to the travel restrictions associated with the global pandemic, this festival focuses on the accomplishments of the young and outstanding Hong Kong artists around the world. “Through the festival, we aim to celebrate music and the efforts we made to put together the program. We want to connect with and console each other with music.”

Mr Lee wishes to thank everyone who supported the Society over the years. “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our major sponsors and supporters. Our festival supporters include the Art Development Matching Grants Scheme of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, our Visionary Partners, the Bank of China (Hong Kong) and The Tung Foundation, as well as The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, who supports The Jockey Club Musicus Heritage Alive program,” Lee added.
