Promoting Music through Cross-cultural Collaboration

Awakening Hong Kong’s History with Music

For music lovers, a concert hall is the only place in which to attend a performance of their favorite music. However, when one transports music out of the hall and into the community, it becomes apparent that music is very much a part of the society from which it was created. Thus, Musicus Heritage brings music into the Hong Kong community in order to make it a more dynamic part of Hong Kong’s history and culture.

Musicus Heritage takes world-class performers to various locales and settings in Hong Kong while putting the music in context with the historical and cultural significance of the surroundings. Hong Kong’s rich history as an entrepôt of trade and cultures allows a myriad of opportunities to showcase music that can highlight the history of the city, or simply reflect the spirit of the time period. In either case, music is a compelling instrument with which to enhance a better understanding and appreciation of Hong Kong’s unique heritage.
