Being the scion of illustrious Italian musical family, Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli has conducted most of the major orchestras in Italy and across Europe including the Oslo Philharmonic and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. From 1984 to 2007, he was the principal conductor of the Mantua Chamber Orchestra. During his committed tenure, the orchestra was awarded the “Franco Abbiati” prize, followed by numerous concert tours all over the world. Maestro Michelangeli continues to collaborate frequently with the Mantua Chamber Orchestra.
