Roydon Tse

Hailed as a composer “glittering with professionalism” (Vancouver Sun), and writing music “mature beyond his years” (Christos Hatzis), Roydon Tse is an award-winning Chinese Canadian composer who writes from the heart, and strives to inspire audiences from all backgrounds with his music, from the first time listener to the most sophisticated classical connoisseur.

A rising star, he has won prizes at several competitions such as the 2015 Washington International Composition Competition, 2014 CMC Prairies Emerging Composers’ Prize, NewMusic @ ECU Orchestral Composition Competition, 2013 Trio Anima Mundi International Composers’ Competition and the Robert Avalon International Competition for Composers.  

Born in Hong Kong, Roydon studied piano and composition in England and Canada at an early age. He holds composition degrees from the University of British Columbia (B.Mus) and the University of Toronto (M.Mus), and is currently completing his Doctorate at the latter institution.
