Mauro Borgioni


Baritone Mauro Borigioni is a specialist in Baroque repertoire. He has sung the roles of Orfeo and  Apollo in L’Orfeo by Monteverdi; Aeneas in Dido & Aeneas by Purcell; and Astolfo in Oralndo Furioso by Vivaldi. His repertoire includes masterpieces like Christmas Oratorio, St. Matthew’s & St. John’s Passions, Mass in B Minor by J. S. Bach; Handel’s Messiah as well as sacred masterpieces by Haydn Mozart and Fauré.

Borgioni is also active in contemporary repertoire, most notably for his performances in Benjamin Britten’s Curlew River and Noye’s Fludde with Prato Chamber Orchestra and Johnatan Webb. He has also sung the role Aye in Akhnaten by Philip Glass with the Orchestra of Teatro Regio in Turin led by Dante Anzolini.

Borgoni has collaborated with various orchestras and ensembles in Europe. He has also sung in some of the most important halls and theaters including Wien Konzerthaus, Teatro Regio Torino, Cité de la Musique Paris, Kolner Philharmonie, Auditorium de Madrid, National Centre for Arts of Beijing. Borigioni has participated in various festivals and concert seasons in Europe, the Americas and Canada. He has recorded for Alpha-Prod, Brilliant Classics, Stradivarius, K617, Glossa, fra Bernardo, Ricercar.
