David Ma

David Ma is currently a student at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where his teachers include Megan Sterling, Olivier Nowak and Tim Wilson.

 

Ma has won many prizes in competitions locally and abroad, including the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the British Flute Society’s School Performer Competition. He has performed in master classes with Sir James Galway, Thomas Robertello, Kate Lawson, Walter Auer and Henrik Wiese, among others.

 

As an orchestral flautist, Ma participated in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra’s “Share the Stage” project conducted by Lorin Maazel and Christoph Eschenbach, as well as Musicus Society’s Ensemble Training program with the London Chamber Orchestra conducted by Christopher Warren-Green. As a soloist, he appeared in the Musicus Heritage Community Concert Series, including “Move to the Music”, “A Home in the Urban Jungle” concerts and Musicus Fest 2016.
