Ensemble Training

Ensemble Training offers a complete musical experience which enables students to fully comprehend what it means to be a true orchestral musician. Qualified students will receive intensive coaching on the last movement of Boccherini’s Symphony in D minor, Op. 12, with Musicus Fest musicians, and the celebrated Mantua Chamber Orchestra. Admitted students will participate in the following*:

– Master Class with distinguished artists
– Sectional training and full orchestra rehearsals coached by the members of Mantua Chamber Orchestra
– Perform with the Mantua Chamber Orchestra in the Finale Concert of Musicus Fest 2017 at Hong Kong City Hall


*Successful applicants are required to attend all master class, rehearsals, and Finale concert.

How to apply?

Eligibility: Hong Kong residents and full-time students (no age limit)
Program Fee: HK$1000 per student*
Instruments: Violin, viola, cello, double bass, oboe, and horn


a) Download the Audition Requirements
b) Download the audition score of your instrument here: Violin | Viola | Cello | Double Bass | Oboe | Horn
c) Record the specified repertoire and upload the audition video onto YouTube
d) Complete the application form with this YouTube link and submit online

Master Class

Eligibility: Master Class applicants are required to apply for Ensemble Training
Instruments: Violin, viola and cello
Audition: Students are required to upload a 5-10 minute excerpt of a standard concerto of his/her own choice onto YouTube

* Need-based financial aid is available for qualified students.
#Woodwind players do not need to attend rehearsal on 17.11.2017 (Fri).
