An enlightened intellectual and a monumental revolutionary figure, Dr Sun Yat-sen journeyed the world in search of allies and supporters to realize his vision for progress. This program is inspired by Dr Sun’s footsteps on the road to revolution – from his intensive study of political theory at the British Museum, to his frequent travels to the United States and Soviet Union to raise funds and solicit support for the revolution.

The upcoming heritage concert features a selection of provocative chamber works by Britten, Dvořák and Shostakovich, illustrating the aspirations and support Dr Sun received from the global community. The program also includes Chinese music portraying the sentiments of a veteran wayfarer. Bringing together renowned and emerging musicians from Hong Kong, the concert celebrates Dr Sun’s effort and dedication to the birth of modern China.
